LOS ANGELES The Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant could end his career after the 2015-2016 season, Kupchak said Friday Micth, general manager of the NBA team.

"I think, above all, his contract expires at the end of next season. There are no discussions about the future and do not think there will be," Kupchak said.

Bryant will be 37 when the 2015-2016 season begins with its twenty Lakers team that has won five titles in 20-year career.

But the star lagunero not been able to play complete any of the last three season due to injury.

Bryant suffered a torn Achilles tendon in April 2013 that ended his season but signed a contract extension two years worth 48.5 million dollars, which kept him as the highest paid player in the NBA.

Only six games after returning from his hamstring injury, Kobe fractured his left knee and the rest of the 2013-14 season was lost.

He returned for the harvest from 2014 to 2015 and last December became the third best scorer of all time in the NBA, surpassing the 32,292 points Michael Jordan.

Limited by pain in the knees, feet, tendons and back, Bryant continued to compete until suffering a torn rotator cuff of his right shoulder in January, forcing him to undergo surgery to season, it was expected to keep it idle for nine months.

"We expect a full recovery, but yes, he is much closer to the end than the beginning," Kupchak said.

Before the shoulder injury this year, 'Black Mamba' had played 35 games with averages of 22.3 points; 5.6 assists and 5.7.

Bryant has won five NBA titles with the Lakers (2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2010). He was named best player in the league (MVP) in 2008 and has been selected to 17 All-Star Games.

Without him on the court, the Lakers had in 2014-15 the worst season in its history with 21 wins and 61 losses, and for the second year were out of the playoffs.
